Nick started his mining career 1977 as a Learner Official with Gold Fields of South Africa. Nick was awarded a bursary for Mining Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand and graduated in 1983. Nick continued with the Gold Field’s graduate programme moving to Gold Field Head Office as a mine planner and finally as Group Mining in 1999.
Nick then moved into mining consulting, spending time, amongst others, as an independent consultant, principal consultant role with SRK Consulting, Mining Plus (Perth). Nick then took on the role as Underground Feasibility Study Manager at Bisha, Eritrea. Nick has recently commenced work at ORELOGY in 2020 as a Principal Mining Consultant focusing on underground mining. Nick has worked in South Africa, Botswana, Nambia, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Brazil, Germany and Albania; covering various mineral comodities including gold, platinum, coal, diamonds, fluorspar, base metals, chrome, uranium, manganese, clay and industrial minerals.
