The revORElution

Mine planners the world over are faced with the same issue when scheduling.

How do you maximise the value

of your operation?

Whether it is bringing grade forward, pushing waste out, chasing a blend, minimising capital or any number of alternatives, the mine planner is faced with a huge range of potentially crucial decisions.

There are plenty of mine scheduling systems available, all with their strengths and weaknesses and given this, ORElogy came to the decision in late 2007 that the time had come to develop a new mine scheduling application something that was " developed by Mining Engineers for Mining Engineers."

The ORElogy vision for this application, christened evORElution, was distilled into five key requirements:

  1. Cutting Edge Algorithms - Encompass the latest concepts in cutting edge heuristic algorithms to allow for block-by-block scheduling.
  2. Independence - A best-of-breed, stand-alone application, independent of all other general mine planning systems.
  3. Intuitive User Interface - Present an intuitive, flow chart based graphical user interface to set-up schedules, run them and then assess the results.
  4. Long Term to Short Term Planning - Create a single tool that provides seamless integration across the Mine Scheduling Lifecycle (MSC), from strategic planning through medium term and onto short term scheduling with the same data.
  5. Future Proof - Develop an application on the very latest programming platforms ensuring it is future-proof and can fully utilise next generation hardware.

The 2010 release of evORElution sees these 5 key requirements having been addressed.
