ORELOGY The Name

We always wanted a company name that succinctly described what it is we do. It is somewhat ironic then that the name we have adopted was suggested by Steves’ 13 year old son Daniel. His understanding of our profession consisted of generalisations and overheard conversations yet, with the clarity of youth, he managed to encapsulate our profession in a word out of his imagination. Rather than merely a play on words, we feel that ORELOGY the word succeeds in effectively describing the philosophy of ORELOGY the company.

As shown in the derivation below, we define the word "orelogy" as “the study of ore”. Our field of focus and expertise is that of mine planning which is, to all intents and purposes, the study of ore. ORELOGY believe that the crux of mine planning, for practical purposes, begins and ends with ore. Mine planning at its core involves delineating ore from surrounding material, developing systems for the most effective and efficient extraction of ore and ensuring the most suitable ore is delivered for downstream processing. This holds true for all types of mining and mineral extraction.

The ORELOGY team encompasses the knowledge, experience and skills to undertake all aspects of this process path.
