QUESTION 1: Whenever I run WedgeStat, I get the following error - “Cannot find the dynamic link library Mscoree.dll”?

WedgeStat was developed using Visual Basic.Net and as such requires the .Net Framework Runtime Ver2. to execute. The error indicates that the Runtime was not installed during the installation process. Go to the downloaded files and run dotnetfx.exe which will install the runtime.

QUESTION 2: How many structures can WedgeStat analise at any given time?

That depends on the specifications of your machine. Keep in mind though that the number of potential lines of intersection that is generated increases exponentially as the number of joints increases. Try and limit number of joints being analised at any given time to < 300.

QUESTION 3: Does the program provide a plan of joint locations?

WedgeStat does not provide a plan of joint locations at this time. The next version will address this.

QUESTION 4: Can you save the Stereonet plot?

No, not at this time. You have to either print or create a screen capture. This will be addressed in the next version.

QUESTION 5: Can you adjust for magnetic inclination inside of WedgeStat?

No, not at this time. This functionality will be available in future versions.

QUESTION 6: Can you analyse for planar type failures in addition to wedge type failures?

Yes, by using the Planar Failure Envelope slide ruler.

QUESTION 1: Do I need MS Office to run 821 Report Manager?

Yes, Access must be installed on your machine. 821 Report Manager is using the Jet4.0 database engine to establish a connection to an Access database.

QUESTION 3: Can I rename the default database?

Yes.

QUESTION 4: Can I move the database to a different location?

Yes, you can move the database to any location on your local machine. Future versions will allow you to access the database file over a network.

QUESTION 5: After I have imported my schedule it does not appear in the dropdown list?

The newly imported schedule will only appear in the dropdown list once you have clicked the “Refresh” button, located immediately below the “Import 821” button.

QUESTION 6: After importing my schedule the numbers does not reconcile. What went wrong?

Make sure that you have selected the correct number of grade items from the dropdown list on the “Import” window. You must select the correct number from the dropdown list and not enter the number directly.

QUESTION 7: Whenever I try to import my schedule the import routine is generating errors. What is wrong?

The Strategic Planner always generate the exact same output, except for the Grade Items. You specify names for these. You must ensure that each Grade Item column has a name and that the names do not contain any spaces or characters such as “%, $, &, *, @, (, !” etc. This is because the names that you specify will be used to generate data columns in the database.
