To meet the practical needs of ORElogy’s consulting  team, in late 2007 ORElogy came to the decision that the time had come to develop a new mine scheduling application that met the needs of mine planning engineers.

evORElution is a unique mine scheduling application that utilises genetic, or evolutionary algorithms, a process that applies the concepts of Darwinian theory “ survival of the fittest”  to produce a range of viable schedule solutions.

evORElution is a stand-alone solution that is truly independent of all other general mine planning systems and  through multi-variable settings and block-by-block processing “quickly delivers” open pit mine planners with “a range of scheduling scenarios” to analyse and consider.

evORElution can also utilise the same dataset to prepare schedules for all phases of the Mine Scheduling Lifecycle (MSL), allowing mine planners to make more informed decisions and enabling mine owners to minimize costs and to maximize cash-flow.

evORElution can schedule by  either:

• Using one model with multiple design stages
• On a regional scale, treating multiple models, with multiple design phases as a single target.
• On a regional scale, treating multiple models, with multiple design phases as a multiple targets.

evORElution has been used commercially by the ORElogy consulting Steam since early 2009 and was commercially released in Q1,2010.

Given ORElogy is solely focused on delivering a “scheduling solution” and not looking to address other mining related issues, industry can expect that this concentrated effort will result in evORElution being a best-of-breed mine scheduling solution.
